Assalamu Alaykum
I think the hardest thing we have to deal with as students is school work!! I totally hate to study or do any school work for that matter but I hate to do it even more during Ramadan because I want to do more ibadah but you have to give so much time in your day studying or doing school work and in Ramadan is a waste of my time lol..I wish I could just take the semester off so that I can focus only on what's really impt and that is improving myself and just getting back to things I need to be doing daily!

Assalamu Alaykum,
When I find myself neglecting my studies (which is a lot of the time lol) I start to freak out because I put off all assignments to the last minute BUT from experience....and I am so not lying I can say that when you focus your life on ibadah and or you are doing work for Allah's cause (insha allah I do that through YM) ALLAH REALLY HELPS YOU OUT BIG TIME!! There's this really jappy chick in one of my classes and I had to do a 10 page paper on students with disabilities and it was 3 days before the due date and I hadn't even started! When I asked the girl how she was doing with the paper she was like "oh....blah blah blah" very nonchalantly and oh my gosh it was my first paper for graduate school and I heard the professor was so tough in grading etc. but anyway, my paper turned out to be 18 pages!!!! and he still gave me an A- alhamdulillah trust me with the amount of time i put into that paper I was thrilled with the grade! Just a lil story to try to express that we have to keep a balance in your life!!!-it can't be all about school! Allah won't refer us to "Dr so and so" our degrees are irrelevant for the hereafter (that's what I keep trying to tell my dad, lol)!

as salaamu alaikum!
ya know... i was soo surprised to meet a few sisters whose parents asked them to take at least two years after high school to gain their islamic education, and then go to college to get their secular degree... wow, masha Allah.. i think that's really special
95% of muslim youth are getting their secular (i think that's the term) degrees before they get their islamic education.. and by the time they complete 5/6 yrs of a compsci degree, they get married and forget about the other education...
something is funky about that
wa salaam
btw, the stat of 95% is my perception of the situation, Not something i read somewhere

As-salamo-Alaikum,
Ramadaan is gone and so are the finals. One thing I regretted this ramadaan is that I was unable to do any extra Ibadah like reading Quran or even Qiyamullail. I only fasted and prayed taraveeh. InshaAllah next Ramadaan will be much better.
